Private Learning

There is nothing that can replace an actual guitar teacher to instruct you on a moment by moment basis during a guitar lesson.  With me as your instructor, I will watch your technique for signs of problems, so you will avoid many of the technical challenges that come with playing the guitar. I will also help you to avoid learning bad habits. This will help you to improve your learning and playing ability at a much fast pace. Lastly, you will also be able to have your questions answered quickly if they were to arise. No need to wait.

How it all works

For a very economical fee of $110.00 per month, you will be ensured a weekly half-hour (:30 minutes) timeslot. This breaks down to four (4) lessons a month. If you would like more quality instruction time, the fee is $175.00 per month for one-hour (:60 minutes) lessons.

First, you will need a guitar that is tunable and playable for lessons. During the first lesson, you will be assessed at your playing level at either beginner, mid-level, or advanced.  From there, lessons are tailored to you to meet your skill level and musical desires. Based on your level, we will adapt the lesson plan to go slow or fast to keep you engaged in your learning adventure. This adventure will also have required music books for each lesson.

Book of Chords

When it comes to age, I teach all ages from 7 years old all the way to 82. Believe it or not, I have one student who is 82 years old and just started learning.

The main goal is to get you to play the guitar and play music. At the same time, you will also be learning a correct approach to playing the instrument and learning to read music. Once the basics are covered, then we start to approach the styles of music you really enjoy (rock, pop, country, classical, jazz styles, etc.).  You will have the opportunity to learn the basics of using a pick or maybe fingerpicking if that is of interest to you.

From my perspective, one of the greatest advantages of lessons is the logical and technical approach to the guitar. It’s an even and step by step approach in mastering the instrument.

Mr. Mack has been teaching my 9 year old to play guitar for a few months now. He is patient and encouraging, but also firm enough to keep the lesson on track. My son is always excited to go to his lessons. I'm very happy that we found Mr. Mack, he's a perfect fit for my son.
