FAQ

Here are some of the most common questions I get from potential and current students:

  • What is the right age to start private lessons?
I have taught kids as young as 5 & 6 year olds, but ages 7 and up is the ideal time to start.
  • How long are the lessons and classes?
Classes are once a week for a half hour session. I do hour sessions in special cases.
  • What if I have to miss a lesson/class?
It’s simple. Let me know as far in advance as possible. If it’s within reason, we can reschedule the class. Sometimes it’s just a missed class, sorry.
  • Do we have the same time every week?
Yes, you will be paying for a weekly time slot.
  • Can I change my time once I start my lessons?
Of course you can. I will do my best to work with you, but it’s not best to keep changing times in order to maintain a consistent schedule.
  • Is there a minimum number of lessons that I have to take?
Yes, you pay for four lessons at a time. This is only fair for the student to give them a true feel of how I teach and what they can expect to get out of guitar lessons. This also assures you of a weekly time slot.
  • Can I take a lesson every other week?
Yes you can when my schedule permits. The difference is that lessons would be an hour every other week opposed to half an hour.
  • Are group lessons available? How do they differ from private lessons?
Group lessons are possible. Class length and payment are different compared to individual lessons.
  • What do I need to start taking private lessons?
All you need is your own guitar (electric or acoustic) and some picks. In studio, there is a guitar amp available for you to use.
  • How about books/materials?
Based off of our 1st lesson, I will recommend a book or learning material according to you skill level.
